Now we're on V 1.3.9 I checked this again. Everything seems to work correctly.
Can you confirm?

Built, moved old .config/yoshimi back. It works.
Minor But. The root paths only included my local bank and not 
/usr/local/share/yoshimi/banks nor the zynaddsubfx banks.
Reinstating the newer config files all the root paths show.
