Ileana will present on “Engaging Kids and Communities through Citizen Science.” Ileana Betancourt K-12 Education Project Assistant Cornell Lab of Ornithology Ileana Betancourt, an educator at The Cornell Lab of Ornithology, has reached thousands of formal and informal educators across the country with citizen science. Through the Lab’s BirdSleuth K-12 education program, Ileana develops curricula, runs webinars and workshops, reaches out to audiences with social media, and most of all, promotes citizen science as a way to engage kids and communities in science and scientific inquiry locally wherever they are.
