200+ Snow Buntings (mostly), Horned Larks, and Lapland Longspurs were along CTH B between Lake Mills and the Dane County line this morning. There are wide shoulders so you can pull off and wait for them to land in front of your car for good looks. Longspurs are beginning to change over to their breeding plumage. Less than 1/2 mile west of Rock Lake, there's a manure spread north of CTH B that had at least 25 crows. A large flock of small birds took off and landed again - too far to see without scope. Stoney Creek Rd. is nearby if you want to try for the Harris's Sparrow. I didn't have time. Dane County - CTH BB to Hwy 73: 0 buntings, etc. Karen -- Karen Etter Hale, Executive Secretary Madison Audubon Society 222 S Hamilton St, Suite 1 Madison, WI 53703-3201 608/255-BIRD (2473) /--Making Time for Birds/ #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
