Cutright, Founder, Western Great Lakes Bird and Bat Observatory The keynote speaker is Kathleen Schmitt Kline, author of the book "People of the Sturgeon - Wisconsin's Love Affair with an Ancient Fish". Kline is a former science writer at the University of Wisconsin Sea Grant Institute, which supports research, education, and outreach dedicated to the stewardship and sustainable use of the nation's Great Lakes and ocean resources. Kline will be selling her book and signing copies at the conference. The new environmental center and Concordia University's distinctive location on Lake Michigan afford an unprecedented location for this conference and its theme, "Tracing Water Trails. Water Habitat, People and Culture." Milwaukee Audubon will also be presenting the Lorrie Otto Memorial Recognition Award for excellence in preserving native fish and wildlife habitat.
