Wisbirders Was in Savannah, GA the first part of this week attending a conference. I arrived around noon this past Monday and headed west towards Statesboro to look for a N lapwing that had been in the area for about a week. I found it and got nice scope views. New ABA birds are hard for me to get (only two last year, not counting the 3 that resulted from splits), so this bird was much appreciated. In the fence lines adjacent to the area were many yellow-rumped warblers, a few each of palm and pine warblers and one yellow-throated warbler. On Tues I went to Tybee Island for half a day. Not a lot of interest but I did see quite a few N gannets working pretty close to shore.
