Appears to be a poorly mounted telemetry transmitter. And one wonders if their birds have higher mortality from predators if they have transmitters. I have been trying, most unsuccessfully, to take a photo of a Prairie Chicken in flight. I have a photo that I took at Buena Vista Grasslands on Friday (from a long ways off and which I had to increase in size to better illustrate) of one that has some extra ornamentation. It is at the link below. Anyone care to speculate on what it might be? I have 6 other photos which also show this from slightly different angles but this is the only one that you can see the head of the bird. https://www.flickr.com/photos/29584874@N08/13933634501/ Mike Reese Wautoma, Waushara County #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
