As Peter mentioned the forecast looked good for the owl routes, so I conducted one tonight. The weather was great in central Wisconsin also. More excitedly for me, on my first survey, I heard 4 Barred Owls and 1 Great Horned Owl. Other species found during the survey included a Savannah Sparrow, Wilson's Snipes, Snow Geese, Canada Geese, Mallards, a raccoon, deer, and a curious police officer. A more detailed narrative can be found on this link. http://mcmdgold.blogspot.com/2011/04/owl-survey.html Hope everyone stayed safe on owl surveys tonight -- Malcolm Gold (Marshfield, Wood County) http://mcmdgold.blogspot.com/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/malcolmgold/ #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
