Unfortunately Becky and I did not get to see it. My dad, brother and their families, saw it today before Becky and I arrived at my dad's to celebrate Christmas. He lives about 11 miles north of Montello, one mile west of highway 22 on Dover Ave. It perched twice near the top of a tree which is outside the window used to view the bird feeders. They saw it chase a Mourning Dove unsuccessfully. That would have been a lifer for us. Oh well, some other time. We ended up with 24 species today in a couple of hours of birding. None as exciting as those posted on the list, but a good start for the year for us. Stay warm everyone!
