I had been planning on driving somewhere to look for birds, but the cold kept me at home. I'm glad I stayed. I was in my backyard photographing the everyday Black-capped Chickadees, House Finches, & Dark-eyed Juncos when the Chickadees started to make a ruckus. They mobbed a bush near the creek in my backyard. And there was the Northern Shrike. It stayed for about 15 minutes before they drove it off. Not much more for backyard birds today. House Sparrows, House Finches, Northern Cardinals, White-breasted Nuthatches, Downy Woodpeckers, Red-bellied Woodpecker, & Dark-eyed Juncos. I haven't seen the Fox Sparrows or Whie-throated Sparrows since the snow melted. Here's a photo of the Northern Shrike; http://www.flickr.com/photos/bookguy/4311375341/ Paul Sparks Glendale, Milwaukee County #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
