[wisb] Re: New Winter Bird Photos

When I looked at the first photo of the fish the kittiwake was carrying, I 
thought it was a small channel catfish because of how deeply forked the tail 
was.  But looking after looking at the rest of the photos I'm 95% confident it 
is an alewife or gizzard shad (probably alewife).  It definitively is not a 
smelt.  There is a small chance it could be a coregonid or even channel 
catfish, but all of those species have an adipose fin and I seen none on this 
fish.
