[wisb] Interesting Barn Swallow behavior

This morning there was a dead Barn Swallow in front of Milwaukee's Discovery
Center. Cause of death looked to have been a window strike.

Several other swallows were circling low over the dead bird, chattering
noisily. Then three of them landed on the sidewalk and more or less took turns
gingerly walking up to the dead bird, chattering at it, and flying away. They
seemed confused, like they couldn't understand what the dead bird was doing.
This whole process was repeated one or two more times.

I don't want to anthromorphisize too much, but the swallows seemed genuinely
concerned/distressed about their immobile comrade.

Interesting...
