Left work at 3pm and got to the site at 4:20 When I arrived the gray was sitting in a small tree just 10 feet off the road (to the west). It sat there for 30 minutes, not at all bothered by us (3 other cars of birders) nor the occasional traffic. Once it glided down to the road's shoulder, acted like it saw a rodent, feeling for it in the snow, then flew back to the same perch. I got great photos, including a 90 sec. video. Also saw a group of about 40 common redpolls a quarter mile north and another group of 10 about a mile away.
