The Friendship CBC in Adams County was held today in bitter sub-zero temperatures, under brilliant, clear blue skies. We tallied around 39 species, including some new to the count: horned lark, hermit thrush, field sparrow (documentary photo taken), fox sparrow, and snow bunting. Other highlights included golden eagle, northern shrike, and purple finch (the only "winter" finch found on this year's count). Thanks to everyone who participated, and a special Iron Man award to Dan Doeppers, who turned up ready to go in spite of receiving 16 stitches in his leg after an icy fall just days before the count. That's commitment! Jym Mooney, Milwaukee #################### You received this email because you are subscribed to the Wisconsin Birding Network (Wisbirdn).
