My husband got curious and checked out an active fox den on our cabin shoreline - there is a dead raccoon inside, right at the entrance. Could this be a scuffle between these two and the coon lost? Or perhaps a meal for reserve? I thought about removing the coon and set it on the ice for our local Bald Eagles to eat, but not if this is a meal the fox will need for her pups. Coyotes were so vocal last night, I fear they might find the coon and pups. Any and all suggestions are welcomed.
