I just looked at my message and realized that the "English majors" on the
listserv will begin fainting at their desks if I don't correct my sentence
below to read: "the latter could be entered erroneously!"

Sorry,

> When entering eBird checklists this April, please be aware of the following:
>
> 1. The checklists are expanded and each species group contains many more
> possible entries. For example, Eastern Phoebe has now been joined by the
> Eastern Kingbird and if you don't look carefully, the former could be entered
> erroneously! This has already happened........
>
> 2. The eBird data filters limit the way that the eBird team can present the
> species on the checklist, resulting in birds appearing on the list at the
> beginning of April that would be record early observations if seen at the
> beginning of the month, but "normal" to observe later in the month. Be
> mindful of the record dates for species and always be certain to enter
> details into the Comment fields about birds seen early - eBird will NOT
> prompt you to do this for all record-worthy sightings, you must do it
> yourself!
>
> THANK YOU!!!
