A few years ago in late afternoon/early evening I would see several hundred swifts disappear down the large chimney of Cherokee Middle School on Midvale Boulevard/Cherokee Drive on the near west-side. I don't know whether or not the roost is still in use, but I would guess this to be the case. I had one nighthawk fly over my house tonight, bringing my total seen this fall to three, although last year I saw 83 go over Hill Farm Swim Club one evening in late August. -Max Witynski Madison, Dane On Mon, Sep 6, 2010 at 7:32 PM, Jesse Ellis <calocitta8@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Hey all- > Let's keep track of these, both in Madison and in any other municipal > areas! > I know of two spots in Madison - Science Hall on the UW campus (right near > Memorial Union), and the Greenbush Bakery, or the house behind it, at > least, > at Regent and Charter St. If you see one of these events, > eBird<http://ebird.org>it to the best of your ability!
