Some highlights of the Madison Audubon/Friends of Cherokee Marsh
woodcock walk last evening were:

woodcocks sky dancing and on the path, where we were able to get scopes on them
cooper's hawk, cardinal, and Canada goose on nests
2 sandhill cranes in the wetland and a flyover flock of 12
kingfisher
pair of wood ducks
ruby crowned kinglets
hermit thrush
flock of tree and barn swallows

After most everyone had left, a raccoon came out to check out the garbage cans.
