Not having been here in nine years, my memories & I walked Cherokee Marsh this morning. Glad memories came, for it was slow. After all, is August 8th. Memories of Black-throated Blue & occasional Hooded migrants - of a one time Chat - of a Woodcock landing at my son's feet - of cutting my teeth on birding 20 years ago out here, struggling with the basics. One question emerges: who convinced the powers that be that metal boardwalks are superior, or that the water boardwalk needed to be removed? Good birding to all!
