Josh Smith and I saw a flock of 250+ Bohemian Waxwings in Ashland on Tuesday. The birds were in flight over the Bay City Creek ravine south of Northland College. This ravine, as it courses through Ashland and south toward Beaser Avenue, harbors many fruit-bearing trees and has been among the most reliable places for Bohemians in years past. The female Snowy Owl present along the Ashland lakefront since at least mid-December also continues.
