It only works (well) for programs that include an MSI installed package. But it's not all that tough to create an MSI, especially with the new Visual Studio MSI packager. That is how I do things here where I work... it sometimes takes a bit to get it to work perfectly, but it's worth the time. The other problem with using AD to deploy software is that it only works on Win2K and XP Pro. But I see here everyone is suggesting something else. Why? Is using AD not a good idea? (I had planned on using it, after I learned about it in the class.) We need to be able to push out some small client software to about 50 PC that are spread out across our WAN. Do you know of any good products to accomplish this?
