You do know that some users use the Deleted Items-folder as storage-space for
important mail(...)?

I discovered that a few years back when I did something similar to what you
intend to do now. Only difference is that I set Outlook to always empty the
Deleted Items-folder when they close Outlook. Autoarchive is in place though,
for all other folders.

I know it's OT but I'm sure there are plenty on this list who will know the
answer to this.

I'm about to implement Mailbox Management rules on my Exchange 2003 servers. I
will move all messages >30 days old from the Inbox and Sent Items folders to
the Deleted Items folder. I then want any messages that have been in Deleted
Items for >7 days to be purged. The question is, will a message in Deleted
Items have an age of 0 days when it is moved into there, or will it retain
its' original age. Should I set the Deleted Items folder to purge at 7 or 37
days and should I set a separate policy to clear the Deleted Items folder
pemanently?
