That's interesting....  I just can comprehend why though..??  The only =
analogy I can think of is a police officer and wearing his/her =
bullet-proof vest.  The odds are you will not get shot or even into a =
gunfight but I think it would be unwise not to wear it. (Wow, I hope I =
didn't go overboard with that comparison.)

You can lock your web servers down sufficiently it just takes experience =
and time.  And considering it's their software they have the experience.

My point is that you can expose web servers to the public Internet if =
you take the proper precautions and hardening steps but most people =
don't or don't know how. =20

I believe that I heard once (on this list?) that MS doesn't have their
Web servers behind a firewall at all.  I find that hard to believe,
anyway.  And even if it is true, I'm sure they have separate SQL Servers
that are behind one...
