I know of banks in the city of London which were brought down as they didn't
have the security patch issued in July! Not very good security at all!

(I guess if this virus/worm is/was propagating so quickly the answer is =

My point is I think it is absurd to expose any server to the Internet =
without it being behind some kind of firewall.
Am I missing something?

If your machine is running SQl, is not patched with the MS patch or SQL =
SP3
and you have ports 1433/1434 open to the internet or no firewall =
blocking
those ports you are most likely affected.
