hi lynn the problem is that debbie and rick supported the move by acb instead of trying to insist along with chrissy that another scheme be used so that there wouldn'tbe a blood bath in terms of broadcasters. Had chrissy insisted that this happen as director of the project we might have just saved those folks. Actually, Debbie and Rick had nothing to do with forcing ACB Radio Interactive to conform to copyright laws or how it was done.
My facts are a bit blurry here. But, it was a board of ACB that approved the company that forced the way that we conform to the copyright laws.
Rick and Debbie were appointed by ACB Radio management to coordinate the effort.
I've had my share of differences with them. But, due to an aggressive and persistent manner to know what was up, Rick and deb talked to me about the differences and all is well. I believe them to be very straightforward people who has the good of ACB Radio in their hearts.

well bud i'll tell you a lot of it was that rick lewis and his wife debbie the program director went into a copyright compliance method which forced many of the old time djs to leave because they did not use software which complied with the new requirements. I'm now on a station which uses a scheme which would have been ok with the old software and think they should have done the same to allow djs like steve bgbower, michael gorman steve nomer and michael gorman and john cottrel to stay. even realizing this i stayed but i was openly critical of the station and Chrissy cochran who is mostly interested in getting a paycheck from acb and the program director decided to moderate my content on the acb radio mailing lists. I told them i would not be sensorred and I left.
If they didn't like what I said there's always the delete key. the folks over there want broadcasters who are a bunch of yes men and with me that isn't happening. as I told them there are lots of places i can broadcast and within a couple hours of my resignation i had several offers. Had already lined up my spot on the legend though and really like the station and the way it is run.

well, chris, i'm sorry to hear that you had difficulties with acb radio. i really think that you brought some of the highest technical skill to their broadcasts. i'm embarassed with some of the fumbling and dead air some of the presenters offer. i'll make a note of your times and try to listen. i like your choice of music. i'm a little older than you, but we seem to like the same music.
