Hi Don and all, it might also be good to check the settings for the disc writer plug in in winamp 5.57 as in a friend's case, they revert to a low bit rate, and if this happens, the fix is to reinstall another version of winamp, and then reinstall winamp 5.57. I still use winamp 5.13, and am on the dark side otherwise, "lol," so I don't know why this happened in my friend's case, but I wonder if that might be the reason why your wave files created with gold wave won't play with winamp 5.57, just a wild guess.
