It is not, nor has it ever been my style to spoon feed people. Now this is
not to say that I do not try and help others, but the difference is that I
show you the basics, and it is then your turn to vventure on and try new
things.
i have to expect that people on this list have basic windows knowledge,
because after all Winamp is not for the beginning Windows user.
This list has over 200 members and there are just not enough hours in the
day for me and Rob our other fine moderator to help every single person
with absolutely everything.
If I helped you with everything, you would have to run to me every time
something went wrong, and i'm sure you don't want that.
Also, you would not get the satisfaction of knowing that you did something
yourself. When you venture out and gain knowledge, it gives people
confidence. I want everybody here, new members and veterins to try stuff.
When you don't know why a certain thing is happening, or if you aren't sure
of something, then you should go into the preferences and look around and
then go to the area you think might be where the problem is, if you can fix
it there. What it all breaks down to is that I can only tell you so much,
because if I told you everything all the time, you'd never learn anything,
and the whole point of the list's existance is for people to get together
and help each other, not for everybody to line up and ask questions of
me. So come on folks, don't be afraid to try stuff. Winamp isn't the
simplest program, but you can make it work for you if you use the knowledge
on this list and the accessibility your screenreader provides.

but you were very far from this clear in your previous posts, with your thinking being that we all know what we are doing all the time, Chris! This is the first time, frankly, that I have seen you give such glowing details, that just might work! Will you guarantee it? Because I have had the same problems as everyone else had, with that short corrupted download and, frankly, I hope I don't do something wrong, this time ! Chill, Chris!

Ok, now really, this isn't rocket science y'all!! What I really don't understand is why *so* many of you are having trouble with downloading this version, it really isn't that hard. and as others have said, if it downloads very very quickly, logic suggests that you got yourself a corrupt file. Ok, now for those of you curious, here's exactly how you do it.

now! Once you get there, use whatever navigational key you use to jump to the first table on the page, JAWS users this is the letter t. now arrow down once and you'll see a link that says lite. once again and you'll see a link that says full. These are *direct* links to the file, the addresses of which I used to paste into my original e-mail. Winamp lite is available at
