the line in plugin is used mainly for broadcasters.
What it does is allow a microphone or mixer to be streemed over the
shoutcast server, using y9our line in inputs on your sound card.
If you use a software synthesiser with your screen reader, then its a really
awsome program.
Because you don't want your software synthesiser voice coming over the air
when your on air brodcasting.
