Rodney, thanks for catching the tense mismatch. I have corrected the
sentence to read "No goods or services". I also added "Thank you for your
generous support."
Additionally I should have mentioned something I discovered when
researching what needs to be on the receipt. For any donation of $250 or
more the donor is required to have an acknowledgement of the donation from
us to be able to deduct it on their taxes. We cannot be penalized for
failing to issue a receipt however we can be fined if a donor's deduction
is disallowed because we did not issue a receipt. Long story short I think
we should implement a policy that we always issue a receipt if the donation
is $250 or more. If the donation is less than $250 we will issue a
receipt upon request. I'm happy to discuss this further at the next board
meeting.

I noticed...
I believe we should be in the singular, or plural, noth mixed. We
currently have:
"No good or services were provided in exchange for this donation"
Here the word 'good' is singular, and 'services' is plural.
Should it be:
"No goods or services were provided in exchange for this donation"
That website says we should thank on a basic receipt, and supply the
receipt as close to the donation date as possible, however it is not
required until January 31, of the next year.
So, Jackie, please put thank you somewhere on there. Maybe in the
heading of the cash amount. Maybe as a sub-heading to the
document...up to you.

I agree, since we send out a formal thank you letter/note, we do not
need the thank you note on this tax receipt. However, I am quite cut
and dry when it comes to these types of things, so I wonder if anyone
disagrees, and the words Thank You should indeed be on the receipt
somewhere. If someone is to suggest that, please suggest the wording
and the positioning as well, so we have less back and forth.
