I'm not exactly new to the world of production, but I have mostly been
trying to acquire knowledge on my own, and it hasn't gotten me to the
level where I had hoped to be. I am 22, and interested in learning
more about the technology that is available to me as an aspiring
producer. I would like to turn this passion into a career but in order
to do that I feel like I need to fill in the missing foundational
information that independence did not afford me. Basically I'm looking
for recommendations, on how and where to get started. What OS, What
DAW, What SOFTSYNTHS, What hardware, ETC... My greatest concern is
softsynths and the ability to manipulate them, if possible beyond just
the area of presets. I have a budget of between 5 and 10 thousand
dollars to get my studio off the ground if this will impact answers in
anyway. Like I said I do have some knowledge but I'm unsatisfied with
the results I've gotten from my uses of sonar, and the few VST's I've
purchased (This could be due to a lack of proper training) and am
completely rebuilding from the ground up. So if you can, please help
me.
