JPR,
With respect to the location of templates, I did not install Samplitude. The
installation was handled by the man who built my computer. So, I don't know
where templates are stored. How could I find out?

JPR,
I will also put my answers in context.

Kev.
I have scanned the table of contents of the sAmplitude Pro X3 manual with an
eye toward looking for where I might create some of these KB splits. Nothing
immediately suggests itself.
JP. Was this possible in sonar? I didn't know it was. for me, a MIDI track
always took the entire keyboard range am I wrong?
What I would do when creating these special templates is this. On any given
track where I wanted to create one portion of a split, I would transpose that
entire track up or down an octave as desired. I would do this in SONAR. The
result is that the note you played it would end up sounding an octave above
or below the plate pitch as desired. In practice, the situation would be
something like this. If I wanted a cello to be available in the right-hand
it so that it was a melody instead of a harmony, I might transpose this
particular track One or two octaves so that the Losi on the cello would sound
when I actually played what should have otherwise been C third space trouble
clef. Fact is, I forget exactly which direction I would transpose to create
this effect. I would then put monitoring on for both tracks of a split so
that the left-hand rack that played chords on piano or Strings could be
heard along with the right-hand track that played the melody instrument,
cello or violin.
I also did not copy my sonar templates from my old computer and don't have
them to send it to you. At least I don't think I do.
Kev.Yes. I have this option enabled.
Also, I still haven’t figured out how to scroll up and down through the
tracks of a project or template and hear individual tracks/MIDI instruments
play as one scrolls. I’m sure this is just a matter of what I like to
call, Press the Reset Button Volume XII, Revised Edition. But I haven’t
figured it out yet. I have enabled the automatically choose MIDi switch on
Record in Transport. But there’s got to be something else I’m not doing.
JP.
There is another Monitoring option, which is not specific to MIDI tracks, but
it's called Something like turn record on automatically on current track.
Tape monitoring Should also be checked in this menu, and lastly, AnotherI may not have looked at the FX monitoring input monitoring the situation. I
Monitoring option for VST synths to work properly, FX monitoring Input
monitoring should be on. Best,
will check that.
Thanks,Kevin
