Guys,
Progress continues, while I still can’t get Independence to respond to CC7 and
can’t hear instruments placed on some of my tracks/MIDI channels, even when
monitoring is definitely on, I have been able to import the HSC set for
independence and it appears to be functioning.
Now, I have some questions about the creation of a default template that I
would like to load whenever I open Samplitude Pro X3 Suite, similar to the one
I had when opening SONAR for so many years. I guess I should begin with the
question of how to turn a project into a template and where to save said
template. This template should have the following characteristics:
1. It should consist of a number of tracks assigned to various VST instruments
which are loaded and ready to record on startup.
2. Some of these tracks should represent sections of keyboard splits which
splits, in turn, will need to have their ranges transposed by octaves in order
to accommodate combinations that result in having a keyboard which is split in
half between, say, piano with sustain pedal and solo instrument without
sustain. In other cases, the keyboard should be split between two solo
instruments, such as violin and cello, with or without sustain active.
I have scanned the table of contents of the sAmplitude Pro X3 manual with an
eye toward looking for where I might create some of these KB splits. Nothing
immediately suggests itself.
Also, I still haven’t figured out how to scroll up and down through the tracks
of a project or template and hear individual tracks/MIDI instruments play as
one scrolls. I’m sure this is just a matter of what I like to call, Press the
Reset Button Volume XII, Revised Edition. But I haven’t figured it out yet. I
have enabled the automatically choose MIDi switch on Record in Transport. But
there’s got to be something else I’m not doing.
Thanks as ever,
