To guard against outlook Express files becoming corrupt, since they are at more risk during compacting, I'd say it's not advisable to close OE while that is going on. The less interaction you have with the keyboard while compacting is in progress, the better.

No you won't find a check box for that Joe, it will happen, as Flor says from time to time. It is very quick and compacts all folders one after the other. You can even close OE while that is going on. ----- Original Message ----- From: joe bollard

hello friends, for a long time now i've been getting a message in "outlook express" it says something like "to save disk space outlook express can compact messages" i've tried tabbing around to try to find "don't show me this message again" but i can't find it, any suggestions? take care, travel safely joe.
