I found that the actual session took about 2 hours, not the 1 hour originally
scheduled. And there was the setup time too. That said, $100 for 3 hours work
ain't bad and I thought that what they were testing was interesting.

Susan and others:
I echo these sentiments. Between the set up and the pre-interview
questionnaire, I probably spent about an hour. The session itself lasted almost
ninety minutes and that was only because I had another commitment and had to
leave. After the session, the interviewers sent me another questionairre which
took approximately forty minutes. So, all told, I spent at least three hours
with this project. In my opinion, the compensation was not worth this amount of
time. I did provide this feedback to Cambridge focus when submitting the
post-interview questionnaire via email.
Thanks.

I appreciate that this is a paid study but as such I believe they very***
much underestimated the time required to do the set up therefore the
pay is not reflecting the amount of time involved. From a general time
commitment standpoint it’s important to get a more accurate estimate
of time in the future when set up steps are required for scheduling purposes.
I hope this feedback is appreciated and welcome. I think it’s
important to be upfront and give adequate feedback whenever possible.
Thanks,
Susan.

Yes, it all needs to be done before the session, including the survey
they ask you to complete.

Hi Susan, and anyone else involved with the Cambridge Focus study:
It is best to do as much of the set up as possible in advance of your
session in order to keep that final session on time and efficient.
However,
if you have difficulties with any of it on your own, or are simply
uncertain about any of it, you can work with the MITRE researchers to
resolve it during your study session with them.
A big "thank you" to all who are participating in this particular
study. I think it has turned out to be a bit more involved and
challenging than it was originally described, so we really, really
appreciate all of you who see it through to conclusion. It is truly
important research, so what you contribute will impact many persons
who are blind or visually impaired when it comes to accessing
government websites and web portals in the future.

Hello, is anyone else doing an accessibility research study with
cambridge focus? If so, did you do your set up in advance or during your
appointment?
Thanks,
Susan .
