Hi William,
No, I was activating an App that I regularly use and which needs my email
address,
but which I log out of after completing my task. I hoped Talk-Type would give
me a quick way in.
I tried spelling too and noted the extra spaces after the dot or period. I
didn't get as far as the " mad cow rampant " sign <grin>
Ah well, I'll continue to build up experience using Talk-Type in less ambiguous
situations.
Very grateful for your patience and help.
Blessings. Ian.

Hi Ian. Are you trying to send an email? Which email client are you using? The
default email app on the Fire?
Speaking an email address is probably a hard one. I never got it to work for
me. I did try just speaking one letter at a time, however, problem is when
saying period it would offer a space before the next character. Then there is
the "at" symbol.
Now, I did a search of this character. All over the world, the "at"
symbol has many names, but, these were interesting.
IN ENGLISH, the symbol is boringly known as "commercial at", but other
languages offer more imaginative names. In Swedish, it is called snabel-a ,
("a" with an elephant's trunk), or kanelbulle , the Swedish equivalent of the
Chelsea bun. In German it is called Klammerraffe , (a clinging monkey) -
presumably hanging from a tree by one arm.
IN GREEK, it's called a little duck and in Russian a dog. Since animals seem to
predominate, could I suggest the British term should be a mad cow rampant?
In IT IS called an "atmark". Its use in internet addresses has led to the
production of a computer intended for accessing the World Wide Web called the
Atmark computer.
Perhaps predictive is the way to go, if originally keyed in. Or, perhaps one
just has to key the email address in the old fashioned way.
I'll have to play alot more with this. Maybe even send an email to the
developer.
Stay well ... William

Hi William,
I found the settings button and switched off all the predictive stuff,
but I'm still not sure how to speak my email address into the edit field.
For example, if I say "ian dot" or even just "ian" I get something
like "an?". What am I doing wrong?
Thanks.
Ian.
