Hi. OK. I'll bite and start the conversation. I don't own any of the
apple devices you mention. Actually, I don't own any Apple devices.
Nor do I own a smartphone.
Neither do I own an Echo.
Nor, do I use audible.
So, I'll have to pass those questions off to someone else.
Although, I do own a first generation VR Stream. (2009) And, my laptop
(2004) runs Windows XP!
I still use the laptop alot, but, the VR Stream is gathering dust
since I just pull up Talking Books on my Fire tablet.
I also read Kindle books and I find the Fire tablet fine in this regard.
The bard mobile app for talking books also is a winner at least in my opinion.
I guess the decision, for me, boiled down to price.
You can't complain with a $50. price point retail. And, often on sale
for $10. bucks less. Or, that rare black friday sale of $34 which is
the price I paid for my 7" Fire from Amazon.
Stay well ... William

Hello all, a decision before me is whether to purchase an ios tablet like
the I pad mini or I pad or an amazon fire tablet. I especially wonder if
buying audible or kindle books is easier on the amazon fire tablet than
than an ios device, or is it about the same? Also, I want the tablet of
some
kind to manage an echo, since my computer is older and still works but has
security issues since it is XP. I don't yet have a smart phone. My only
other devices are vr streams, which do not really figure in here. A lot to
throw at you all, thanks for any light you can throw my way. Best, Ginnie.
