Hi Carol. Yes. If you have the latest os update, the voice application
is located on the fire standard virtual keyboard.
With the virtual keyboard open, when you mouse your finger towards the
bottom left and move up, you will find it. listen to the complete
message before you release, You will hear a tone, then start speaking.
when done single tap on the screen. Swiping up and down you will find
your edit and the send button.
Looking for this voice activation tab might be difficult at first,
but, move slowly in that area. You'll find it. Just don't release your
finger until you want to start the program!
If you don't like what you hear, tap on back and you will be given a
option to discard and start over.
I'll have to write a blog post about this!
Of course it doesn't beat keying with a regular keyboard like I am
doing now with my laptop using NVDA. But, it works and works on alot
of my apps including email, facebook, twitter and functions within
those apps.
Lastly, no. I have yet to figure how to create punctuation by voice,
if possible. I am going to work with my daughter and try different
stuff and see what happens. I know that if I say "space", I get, well,
the word space. Not what I wanted /smile. I knew that, because a post
to facebook noted the writ when I said what I was doing.
So, for now, I have to think (not a bad thing) what I want to exactly
say as a continuous line.
But, the program is smart enough to space out the words! At least what
I said in my message to this thread talked-back to me spaced out
words.
The Fire may drag a little especially if I swipe in a real hurry. But,
I really don't notice that as a problem. Maybe I've got alot of
patience /smile!

little difficult to sort out, but nearly as difficult as a message I had
yesterday that had no spaces in it, grin. Now, That! was a difficult

Also, is my device supposed to be fairly slow in responding? I would
think I would have gotten the hang of it by now. I may just be spoiled
by the speed of my iPod. Also, the Fire is almost three times larger,
so I may just be having trouble in general. Thank you for your response,
