I bet that would be perfect for Gwenna, as she so does love to her obedience but it would be stimulating enough for her. Got to do something, smile. Shelley L. I have done this just once as part of a training game with assistance dogs ... but it is fun and might be adapted to a guide and their partner with audio at each station reading the behavior required. Here are some links that might help explain better then I could. http://www.canismajor.com/dog/rallyo.html this article describes it as: " Rally obedience, or "Rally-O" as it has been termed by enthusiasts, is the latest American Kennel Club event to hit the show circuit. Rally-O combines characteristics of sports car racing, dog agility, and traditional obedience into a new fun sport. Rally is timed, includes 12-20 performance stations depending on the level of participation, and is scored by a judge who watches for a smooth performance as well as skill in following the directions at each station. " smile Basically the dog and handler team move continuously through a rally course of 10-20 signs with the dog at the handler's left side. At each numbered sign they perform the indicated exercise then move to the next sign. Unlimited communication is encouraged - the handler can talk to the dog and give multiple commands and signals. Scoring is less rigorous than traditional obedience. http://www.akc.org/pdfs/rulebooks/RO2999.pdf this is a book from AKC about Rally. There is 3 levels of Rally obedience and below is a link that is a pdf of the signs they use in all three levels. It will give you the behaviors. http://www.akc.org/pdfs/rulebooks/ROR999.pdf These are not set up for VI but here are some videos. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2488935750783943071&q=dog+rally&total=215&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=2 http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2488935750783943071&q=dog+rally&total=215&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=2 Best Wishes & Wags, Diane & Raven APDT#72225 http://AssistanceDogJournal.net http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Golden_Paw_ADC/ "My Assistance Dog is not my whole life, but she makes my life whole" ~D.L.Shotwell "Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened." ~Anatole France All posts are considered copyrighted by the author.
