I am with you Melinda-
I hope no one ever has to go through what I did with
Met. I was on a major street when Met was attacked and
was unable to get his leash loose. I also had very
little warning of it about to happen- certainly not
enough time for me to get his leash loose.
I don't think I will ever heal completely from that.
Actually though one of the best things that could have
happened for me was losing more vision because I don't
have as much advanced knowledge of dogs around me and
thus less chance of my unease affecting Met. Go ahead
and laugh but in some ways we enjoy our community more
now than I did back in 2003.
Honestly though I believe this dog would have gotten
Met even if I could have gotten his leash loose.
In a perfect world people would train their dogs well
and these attacks we encounter would not happen.
