[vi-android] updating a Galaxy S3

Hi,
I have a Galaxy S3 for the Verizon network.
In settings, and About, it reads that there is an update available, but it
cannot get it.
It keeps trying to download it, but no luck.
I have no sim card in it, but I have a 64GB sd card in it, and connected to
WIFI.
It is currently running 4.3.
It says that 4.4 KitKat is available, and just keeps failing to download it.
Thanks for any thoughts.
