Fifteen birders enjoyed an early January gift of warm weather and blue skies at Henricus on Saturday. The marsh was full of water, and there were many ducks, but nothing unexpected. There were lots coots bobbing around among the reeds, but no snipe. Two immature eagles put on a show over the marsh. We walked back into Dutch Gap, but birds were few and far between so we went out to the point where we spotted 7 Common Mergansers at the end of the channel across the way.
