Hello All,
My mother, who lives in Hopewell, has two Baltimore Orioles regularly
visiting her backyardnectar/jelly feeder. At one point in February she
had 3 Baltimore Orioles. She also has infrequent visits of Purple
Finches.
Thought I would share...

Baltimore Orioles seem to be lingering more into the winter.
We had two on the DC Christmas Bird Count on Dec 19 at Dyke Marsh.
All orioles reported in the winter have been Baltimore and a vagrant
Scott's. No reports of Orchard that I know of.
Anybody else have any other reports?

Subject: [va-bird] overwintering oriole
For the last few days I've had a Northern/Baltimore oriole (looks like a
female) frequenting my feeders in the Fort Hunt area of Fairfax
don't know how common this is, so thought I'd mention it.Ð I know it'sthe
first time I've seen one in the yard in almost 20 years.Ð Not much elseof
note -- a flock of Siskins and the Cedar Waxwings make me happy when theythe
stop by, but in general it's the normal winter mix of birds, other than
oriole.Ð Ð You are subscribed to VA-BIRD. To post to this mailing list,to
