Loudoun county currently has at least two Baltimore Orioles in the area.
One in Leesburg ( https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S80526061 ;) and one in
Purcellville ( https://ebird.org/view/checklist/S78723948 ;). This is the
first winter that I can recall regular sightings of more than one oriole
for months in the winter in Loudoun.

We have had a male Baltimore oriole overwinter in our backyard in Lynchburg
the past 3-4ish years. It did not show up this year, although a couple days
ago another community member shared photos of a male oriole in her
backyard.

We had two on the DC Christmas Bird Count on Dec 19 at Dyke Marsh.
All orioles reported in the winter have been Baltimore and a vagrant
Scott's. No reports of Orchard that I know of.
Anybody else have any other reports?

Subject: [va-bird] overwintering oriole
For the last few days I've had a Northern/Baltimore oriole (looks like a
female) frequenting my feeders in the Fort Hunt area of Fairfax
don't know how common this is, so thought I'd mention it.Ð I know it'sthe
first time I've seen one in the yard in almost 20 years.Ð Not much elseof
note -- a flock of Siskins and the Cedar Waxwings make me happy when theythe
stop by, but in general it's the normal winter mix of birds, other than
oriole.Ð Ð You are subscribed to VA-BIRD. To post to this mailing list,to
