Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory will once again participate in the Big
Sit, on October 10th. This is an annual, international event, sponsored by the
New Haven, Connecticut Bird Club, to conduct a census of birds passing a
fixed point. Our location will again be the observation platform at Kiptopeke
State Park. Please join Sam Stuart, our Hawk Watcher and others for what should
be
another great count. The spectacular view there has allowed our total to
previously be in the top 10 in the U.S.
The event is free, everyone is invited. The more people looking the better.
Come for an hour or spend the whole day. And...a special prize to the person
who first sees the most unusual bird.
