Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory will again participate in The Big Sit!
an event where groups of birders stay in one spot and record the birds they
see throughout the day. There are usually well over 100 circles and in just
about every state and Canada and Europe, getting a snapshot of bird migration
on one day.
CVWO will again be at the Kiptopeke Hawkwatch platform for this year's Big
Sit! on Sunday, October 8th. Everyone is invited to come help out....stay for
a little while or all day....the more eyes the better!
Our goal is 80 species, which very few circles achieve and we have been
close to that several times. Last year's 69 was good enough for a 13th place
finish.
