Julie and I vacationed in the Outer Banks this past week, and took the
opportunity to venture over to the Palmetto Peachtree Preserve between Manteo
and Columbia, North Carolina. If any of you are going to the OBX this summer,
you might want to consider a visit there. We got to the preserve at about
10:30am, and were fortunate to see 4-5 Red-cockaded woodpeckers near the Sound.
