Fellow birders,
I encountered 10 of a reported 21 species of warbler at a
muddy Monticello Park today during a relatively quiet, 90-minute early
afternoon visit: American Redstart, Chestnut-sided Warbler, Magnolia
Warbler, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Ovenbird, Yellow-rumped Warbler,
Blackpoll Warbler, Black-and-White Warbler, Common Yellowthroat and Northern
Parula. Other birds of note seen by me during my brief visit were Swainson's
Thrush, Wood Thrush, White-eyed Vireo and Red-eyed Vireo. Also, the park
was filled with White-throated Sparrows.
