All,
I did a short trip to Highland today and got to see some of my target
species and missed on a few others. Golden-winged Warbler was singing an
alternate song consisting of a 8-10 note stacato phrase with slight rise in
pitch near the middle of the phrase and downward mvt in pitch at the end of
phrase. Somehow I manage to forget about this alternate song every Spring
and am always shocked to discover it again. Other highlights were Bobolinks,
both Orioles, Warbling Vireo, Vesper Sparrows and great looks at a male
Blackpoll. I didn't get Least Flycatcher, Golden Eagle, or Chat. See list
