Hello all
The Augusta County CBC took place on Sat. 18th of Dec. a total of 21 members
took part in this CBC with a total of 70 hrs. in the feild of which 8 hrs was
at feeder watch & 4 hrs. Owling , 440.25 miles by car , 4.25 mile on foot, for
a total of 444.50 total miles traveled . Our total of species for the count was
77 with a count of 13,775 indivisual birds . . Temps. ranged from 17degrees to
36 for a high , winds were calm to a one on the wind scale. Sun light only
broke thru for a short time on a otherwise cloudy day . With a lot of snow
cover on the ground most of the birds were in brushy areas or along open spaces
on the side of the roads . Ponds & some streams had very limited open areas .**
