Hello all
Today the Augusta County took place with 7 teams in the field . Our team had a
total of 58 species of birds . With the ponds being mostly frozen we had 11
species of Waterfowl . Most notable Waterfowl was one Snow Goose , Black Duck ,
Green - winged Teal , Shoveler , & Hooded Merganser . Blackbirds were around
but the most notable was finding 20 + Rusty Blackbirds on Sangers Lane near the
G B Heron rookery . Also notable was one Short - eared Owl on Bells Lane .
Junco's were every where & we had at least 13 Black - capped Chickadee's in
todays count .
Since we are not having a tally dinner I would like all leaders please send me
your tallies to larnersky@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx asap . Please note temps at start &
finish , miles traveled , persons who helped out in your area, feeder watch ,
owling , start & finish times . I would like to thank all who helped out &
made this CBC a sucess ! Once I have all paper work in I will put out the full
list of species found today .
