The Falcon

Vanik carefully manipulated the controls to keep the Delte Flyer=class shuttle directly above the Federa Colony freighter. The pirate ship fired several times, only to have littel effect on the stretched shielding ptotecting the two ships. He saw the porate ship turn to flee, when Yoshi had fired the phasers at it. This was good, in Vanik's opinion. He prepared to lay in a putsuit course, when he saw the prnding disaster about th unfold.

Lt Commander Matsu had activated the tractor beam to latch on to the fleeing pirate ship. "Yoshi! N....," but it was too late. The tractor beam latched onto the fleeing pirate ship, which was almost twice the size of the Falcon. Vanik dropped the shields because he knew what was coming next and he didn't want to damage the freighter anh more than it already was.

The smaller ship flipped over backwards, thankfully, up and away from the freighter. A small explosion could be heard from the aft compartment. The cabin of the Falcon went black, and the small ship tumbled end over end away from the freighter. The tractor beam immediately winked out. Vanik worked the manual controls on the trhusters time and again to bring the shuttle back under control. At long last, the Falcon came to rest. She was completely dark. Then the emregency lights in the cabin kicked in. Unfortunately for Vanik, and Marsu, the shuttle;s tumbling journey had not gona unnoticed by the pirate ship. They now turned and started on their way back, cautiously keeping an eye on the shuttle to see if they were playing "possum."
